Background
Dogfish Head Brewery began in 1995 as the smallest commercial brewery in the US. Dogfish Head also claimed the title of Delaware's first brewpub with the establishment of the Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The company, founded by Sam and Mariah has found success by offering unique ales. Today, the Delaware based brewery employs over 500 people and continues to produce distinctive ales for its adventurous, spontaneous customers.
The Project
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery's operational and manufacturing headquarters occupies a 100,000 square foot facility in Milton, Delaware and accommodates more than 1,000 visitors per week. The brewery needed to find a solution that would give management maximum control over its premises while still allowing for visitor traffic and efficient manufacturing operations.
The Solution
Premise Security
Assurance Media installed a leading edge IP-based surveillance and access control system. The new system includes the ability to segment access to different areas of facility based on user profiles, as well as the ability to quickly and easily update access cards from any location through a Web browser. Dogfish managers can also program door open and close times and lock down doors instantaneously.
“It was easy for us to add doors or functionality as we needed it. We liked that the S2 system and Assurance Media made it easy and cost effective to expand our security system as our needs grew”
– Trey Bowden, IT Manager, Dogfish Head Brewery
The Assurance Advantage
With seamless integration of access control and surveillance systems, security managers can see what's going on in the facility at all times, and designate access to any portal based on real-time information. Dogfish staff feels comfortable knowing the Assurance team provided the excellent installation with minimum disruption to the workplace.
